HISTORY OF STIE KRAKATAU
Before moving the lecture building location in Gading Rejo District, Pringsewu Regency, STIE Krakatau was located in Kemiling, Bandar Lampung.
STIE Krakatau was officially established based on the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture Number 588/E/O/2014 dated October 17, 2014 with 2 (two) study programs, namely the Undergraduate Management Study Program and the Undergraduate Development Economics Study Program organized by the Mahya Abdi Bangsa Foundation.
In order to support the improvement of quality and interest of prospective students to register at STIE Krakatau, STIE Krakatau carries out accreditation activities for management study programs as stipulated in the Decree of the National Accreditation Board Number 3296/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/S/XII/2018 dated December 12, 2018 concerning the Accreditation Status and Accredited Ranking of Management Study Programs in the STIE Krakatau Undergraduate Program and obtained an accreditation rating of “C” with a score of 239.
Considering that during the course of the STIE Krakatau lectures, since the issuance of the establishment permit until the fifth year of lectures, there was still a lack of interest from the people of Bandar Lampung City to register at STIE Krakatau, on July 27, 2019, the management of STIE Krakatau was transferred from the Mahya Abdi Bangsa Foundation to YLP B.Be.C Widya Yahya. In addition, considering that the Development Economics Undergraduate Study Program is not in great demand, the foundation has decided to close the Study Program based on the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia Number 303/M/2020 concerning the Revocation of the Permit to Open the Development Economics Undergraduate Study Program at the Krakatau College of Economics in Bandar Lampung City which is organized by the Mahya Abdi Bangsa Foundation.
After the handover of management between the Mahya Abdi Bangsa Foundation and YLP B.Be.C Widya Yahya, YLP B.Be.C Widya Yahya began processing the documents to legalize the transfer of management of STIE Krakatau as well as the transfer of the location of STIE Krakatau from Bandar Lampung City to Pringsewu Regency. And only in early 2021, the permit for the transfer of management and change of location of STIE Krakatau was issued with the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia Number 155/E/O/2021 dated April 20, 2021 concerning the Transfer of Management of the Krakatau College of Economics in Bandar Lampung City from the Mahya Abdi Bangsa Foundation to the Cendekia Widya Yahya Educational and Tutoring Foundation, as well as the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia Number 156/E/O/2021 dated April 21, 2021 concerning the Permit for the Change of Location of the Krakatau College of Economics from Bandar Lampung City to Pringsewu Regency which is Organized by the Cendikia Widya Yahya Educational and Tutoring Foundation.
On May 7-9, 2023, a Field Assessment activity was carried out in the context of Higher Education Accreditation in this case STIE Krakatau which obtained a “Good” accreditation rating with a score of 250 based on the Decree of the Director of the Executive Board of the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education Number: 356/SK/BAN-PT/Ak/PT/V/2023 dated May 23, 2023.
In order to support lecture activities and increase public interest in registering, STIE Krakatau has opened a new study program, namely the Digital Business Undergraduate Study Program based on the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia Number 881/E/O/2023 dated December 1, 2023.
